OPERATING MODES

Normal operating mode
DROID-3 normally operates in this mode. To turn off the LEDs for better signal-to-noise ratio hold down one of the ENTER buttons when you turn on the unit (the output LED will be turned on). The LCD backlight can be turned off (instead) by turning on the unit while holding down one of the ESCAPE buttons.

DROID-2 / MIDI-only operating mode
In DROID-2 mode you can access DROID-3 via MIDI only since the LEDs, LCD, buttons and dial are disabled. On the software side only DCO 1 is routed to the audio output, the filter is disabled and the envelopes always outputs 0. This mode allows for 2800 Hz higher sample rate on the audio output and its features resemble those of the never released DROID-2. To enable this mode you must hold down one of the ENTER buttons and one of the ESCAPE buttons while turning on the DROID-3.
